Moms....advice please regarding a work situation

OK...many or all of you know my "terrific" work situation....I get to bring DD with me.

Well, Tues DH was off but had a dr's appt....by the time he got home and I got to work it was 12:30.

I got slack for it yesterday.....she wants to know what hrs I'm going to be there.

Now mind you....I don't want to work at all and am doing it for the $$ right now but the second we get above water....I'm choosing to be a SAHM.

Also, both DH & I are the Family comes first type and I already feel guilty for just the THOUGHT of waking her up
My choices are:
A: put DD down for her morning nap (usually around 9am), WAKE HER UP to get there earlier/to open at 10am

B: let her sleep her 2 hr morning nap and tell my boss that I'll be there at 12 everyday and if I get there earlier, I get there earlier.

I voted other...I don't know if this is possible but this is my suggestion:

What about if you get to work a little earlier? Get there so you can put her down for her morning nap at 9am once you get to work. Then you are at work early - no worry of being late to work or waking the baby or messing up her schedule.

If that's not an option then I vote change your hours.

Did you say you get to bring her to work? If so, how about you leave as soon as she is going to take a nap. She falls asleep in the car and then you take her inside and lay her down in some type of portable crib/bed.

I would wake her & get to work on time. If you are trying to get your head above water, you should get to work when you're supposed to. The fact that you can bring dd to work is a HUGE plus - and many places wouldnt' allow it. I wouldnt' want to lose that job.

I agree

Another suggestion is to maybe try to stretch her from taking her morning nap at 9 to getting her to take it at 10 that way if you get to the store a little early and put her down at 10 she still has her full two hour nap

I agree. I would try to find a way to make her nap work around your job rather than your job work around her.

Can she still sleep in the car seat? The more you transfer them the more they get used to it. I have Fisher Price dome that lays flat and I used to put my kids in that at other people houses. Sometimes babies like smaller things to sleep in. They feel more secure. So when you transfer her maybe she wouldn't wake up.

I agree... this is why I think it's better to get there earlier than later. And changing to a 12:00pm start would cut your hours, no?

I don't think getting in to work an hour early is THAT early, but maybe get there at 9:30 then?

Anyway, if you choose to wake her from her 9am nap, you will be letting her nap for what, maybe 1/2 hr? You're not giving her much of a nap at all if it's usually a 2 hr nap. Then I think a better idea would be to keep her up and put her down as soon as you get to work at 10am (or 9:30am).

Re: Moms....advice please regarding a work situation

I wake up Jake 1 morning to take him to my mother in law - I think I was more worried about waking him up.
He goes with it and has never put up a fuss.
