Christening Question

Thought i would ask you mommies...

My cousin wants to have her daughters christening at a specific restaurant but they only have saturdays open. I told her i thought some churches had Saturday Christenings. Is this true? If so can you tell me any churches in Nassau that might?

Also, are your expected to go to your own church for your babies christening or can you do it at another church if need be?

TIA for any advice you can provide.

Re: Christening Question

I had Julias baptism on a saturday because we are friends with the deacon so he did it as a favor for us and my family. I belong to St. Anthonys in oceanside, maybe if your cousin calls them they can work something out for her. I think you can go to any church you want, I dont see why it would be a problem. Good luck! Yes my church had Saturday christenings - both of my kids were baptized on Saturdays.

Re: Christening Question

I know this is not the answer your looking for, and I can't say if I agreed with it or not, but my brother has his daughters Christening party on a Saturday, the day before her Christening on a Sunday. It was the restaurant thing only doing Saturday, so that's what he opted to do. BUt yes, some Churches will do a Saturday christening. MY SIL is due 6 weeks before me, so we might be having our girl baptised together in their church instead of ours. Then our families won't have to go to two christenings so close together.
