at 4 months old how many bottles did/does your child take.

Also is there a rule about how much formula they should have a day - like 2 oz per pound they weigh- something like that?

My pediatrician told me divide my son's weight in half and that's how many ounces he should take every 4hrs. So for examle an 8lb baby should take 4 oz every 4 hrs; a 10lb baby should take 5oz every 4 hrs and so on.

4 bottles a day every 3.5-4 hours 8 oz each..

We are attempting cereal at the 2nd feeding and so a little less on that feeding...

By the way the cereal thing,is not going so well. Jacob is not taking much, he either spits it out or cries like you wouldn't believe,, any suggestions?

He dosent finish every bottle... and sometimes he'll take almost 6oz... just depends...everyday is different.. but this is "about" what our schedule is like...

Oh, I've never heard that. If that's the case, then Katherine is behind. I think she weighs about 16 lbs. but she looks really chubby regardless though. My pediatricians didn't advise, one of them just said feed her as much as she wants.

Anyhow, she drinks 6 oz. 4x a day. 4 mos. yesterday Chat Icon
