Birthday Party Question
Ok I knew this was going to happen & I was hoping it wouldn't. We started to make a list for PAtricks b-day. Me & my big mouth instead of just inviting the usual kids. I asked him who he wants to come. He then of course says all the kids in his class. That's 18 kids (including him) now the usual gang is about 11 kids. So that would be 29 kids in total . I said oh no no. Then he rattled 4 names of kids in his class. I can handle that. But, then he said But, what about this one & that one. So what would you do: (Mind you his party is in our yard BB-Q w/ a kiddie pool & a slippy slide thingy.)
A-Stand your ground & keep it the usual kids
B-Add the 4 others he mentioned
C-Attempt to talk your husband into having 2 parties 1 for the class & the other for the usual kids?

Re: Birthday Party Question
Tough call. I don't think you should invite the 4 in his class - unless he's out of school & word will not get out about it.
We do the "C" option for Joseph - 2 parties - one family party & 1 school party. Maddie only gets a family/close friend party because her class hasn't started the party circuit yet. I'm not going to be the one that starts it.
eta. I would opt for the usual kids - and tell Patrick that you made a mistake. That you don't want to have anyone's feelings hurt.

Re: Birthday Party Question
His b-day is the end of July. I mentioned it to my husband & he said he won't even remember these kids next week. We're leaving it the usual. LOL

Re: Birthday Party Question
I say invite the 4 extra school kids and thats it. IMO school is out and you are off the hook, the parents will thank you too LOL!
Then again, you know me... I am not an "invite the entire class" PC kinda mom! (hopefully ) no way Jose!
Now THIS was a party! What happened to these? Only invited amount that could fit around your kitchen table?

Re: Birthday Party Question
Why dont you just send some cupcakes to school with him for his "classmate party."
All my kids do this and then have a party at home for the other children. This way he can celebrate with all of his friends. Just explain to him thats hes having 2 parties!

Re: Birthday Party Question
Ahh I didnt see that you said his birthday was at the end of july. Although, you can send them in now and explain the reason to the teacher. I have tons of kids who do this too.
