Gail, any local hospital with a children's ward will be very appreciative. Or if you have a woman's shelter around. Even bringing it to a firehouse so the firemen can hand them out to children will help
I think it's great your donating them instead of just throwing them out Chat Icon

Re: Donating stuffed animals

Hospitals will not take them. I have a HUGE Tigger collection that is still sitting in my garage. They wont take them because of germs, etc. They need brand new, etc stuffed animals. I called many places and still cant find a place. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate some info. Most of them still have the tags on them because they were a collection

Re: Donating stuffed animals

Actually, hospitals do accept donations. After my son died this year, I donated 3 huge bags of stuffed animals to Schneider's Children's Hospital. We received numerous thank you letters from the staff telling us how many sick children had smiles on their faces due to our donation. Maybe call a hospital first to check?

I would call a hospital to check. The high school where I work does a toy drive every Christmas and we are told... no stuffed animals. The reason we were given has to do with many of the children having severe allergies or compromised immune systems.
