I'm a little sad

I know I look like a new poster, but I'm already 8 months pregnant. DH and I had decided that we didn't want to know what the baby was, and were able to resist the temptation all this time. We had another sonogram last week, and we caved. We just found out we are having a little girl!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am elated about this, but now I'm annoyed with myself because I feel like there will be no surprise the day she is born.

I also feel like DH and I made a decision about our child, and could not follow through on it and she isn't even here yet. It is making me question what kind of a parent I will be.

The other thing upsetting me is that I had bought a few outfits for a girl and also some for a boy, since we weren't going to know what it was to be but I wanted to be prepared for either. Well, the other day I was taking the boy outfits out of the closet and it made me really sad. I felt like I lost something very special to me -- even though it is something that I never had in the first place. Does this make sense to anybody?

Anyway, I just needed to vent a bit. Thanks for listening.

Believe me, the fact that a person emerges from your body will be a big surprise, even if you know the gender in advance.

I think the whole process will be a surprise regardless of you knowing that you are having a girl.

I agree, its all going to be a surprise. You have no idea what she's going to look like or sound like when she cries...or smiles and laughs. You have no ide ahow she is going to look at you and cry for you and love you so much. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree. You will be in complete awe to moment you hear your daughter cry and hold her in your arms.
I understand what you are saying but all those feelings will disappear when she makes her grand entrance.
