At what age do they start sleeping 12 hours?
Do they increase slowly or do they just stop waking in b/w and extend a whole 3 or 4 hours?

It varies... some babies start right away, others at 3 months, and others, like my spirited little daughter, don't start sleeping 12 hours until some nudging (i.e. CIO) at 8 months...

Even at almost 2, my son does not sleep a full 12 hours. He sleeps for about 9-10 hours at night and naps for between 1-3 hours in the afternoon.
He started sleeping through the night (8 hours) at around 10 weeks.

Gianna started sleeping 8-10 hours at 2 months old. The day before she slept 13 hours, but last night she only slept fo 6 hours. But she has been sleeping through the night since the 2 month mark. DD will be 3 months old next week.

Mine son increased his two hours at night slowly. Half hour here and there. He never slept more than 10 hours straight until over a year. He was 6 by 3 months or so (but then came teething and night wakenings). He was more like 8-9 for a long time.

Umm...possibly never. Christopher sleeps 8 hours. 10 hours MAX. He started sleeping through the nights (for 8 hours) when he was only a couple of months old.

I am so glad to hear this. Every other baby I know sleeps for 12-13 hours plus naps!!!! Honestly, we put my son 1/2 hour earlier one night and the kid was up and ready to go at 5:00 a.m.!!!!

Gianna is 6 months and I am lucky if I get 8 hrs from her, and it is very rarely straight through.. Edited to say I am not complaining about the 8 hours!

DD sleeps 10 usually since 2 weeks, an a few times a week she will sleep 12-14 hours if she didnt nap much during the day.

Emily is 9.5 months and usually sleeps about 8-10 hours .... rarely 12 --- although she does surprise us with random nights.
She's had a very similar sleep pattern since about 3 months so you can count since then. It has varied when she was teething bad and stuff like that but for the most part it has been the same.
