I am 17 weeks and..
Have an appt. on Tues. Do you think I will get a sono?

I only got a sono at 6 weeks and 8 weeks that was it. every 4 weeks I go but thats too check urine/weight and BP and any questions I may have. I had a sono at my amnio and level 2 but havent had any at the dr since 8 weeks and Im 21 weeks.
I would ask, cant hurt. I asked at 12 weeks when we heard the HB but they said oh no we dont do it at this visit- I was like ok no biggie. But I would ask every dr is different. good luck!

They always told me in advance when I was going to have one. I don't know if they all do that or not. I think mine were at 12, 14 and 20. My next one is this week!

If you are having the AFP and you havent had it yet you will get your blood taken and you will schedule your level II... you will probably not get a sono.

I always knew in advance also ... I had mine at 9 weeks, 20 weeks (this is the big one -- anatomy scan and they can also tell the sex at this one) and then again at the end I got them weekly as part of my treatment since I had GT to monitor the baby's growth.
My sister never got the 3rd trimester one.

I really think it is a doctor specific thing. My doctor does one every visit along with my bloodpressure, weight and urine. His is just to make sure the baby looks ok. He sends me to the hospital for the more advanced sonograms.
