Teachers-Graduate Credits
Which college do you take your graduate credits through? About how much per credit is it? I am looking to take some classes, but Dowling wants around 1800 for a class, and I'm not looking to pay that. Thanks!

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
the New York Center for Teacher Development is associated with Chapman University for grad credits and only costs $525 per course. You just have to make sure your district accepts grad credits from out of state schools.

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
I am taking classes at Touro College. The main campus is in Manhattan but I take off campus in Brooklyn. There are a few women from my school who go there. It is quick, easy, professional and credits are $300 per cred. Can't beat that!!! I took 4 classes over the summer and will be done in June. I just transfered from Molloy and I hated it! Molloy told me I would not graduate until 2012..Hello I will be done with Touro in June. I know Hofstra has a good program too but $$$$$ Good Luck!!

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
I got my Masters from Stony Brook and it was pretty inexpensive. It's been a while since I graduated so I'm not sure what it is a credit now.
I do my post-graduate work through Dellecave Institute.

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
For Graduade credits, here are some places I have used or have friends who have used. Not sure on the price for all of them but they may be worth checking out: 1. Stony Brook 2. Hofstra 3. LIU 4. Dellacave 5. Teacher Education Institute (online and on site, Ive done both) 6. NYSUT 7. Check your teacher center, ours does some through a college upstate 8. BEST bestcenterinfo.com - online and on-site. These are $400 per class. HTH

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
Stony Brook, you can take classes through the school of professional development, when I was teaching I started my masters there, and even though I am no longer teaching, I am finishing up my degree this year. It is definitely cheaper than any private school.

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
If you are looking for random grad credits you can do it through dellecave, college of st. rose, or teacher educational insitute.
If you are looking for a degree, I would go through Stony Brook. I am taking a 2nd masters through them now and onyl pay 715 per class, that's right per class, not per credit. My classes thru SB are at Massapequa High School on Thursdays. We have a cohort there, if you are interested, FM me and I will give you the contact I have at SB to see if you can join this cohort.

Re: Teachers-Graduate Credits
I've taken NYSUT classes for extra credits. They give you grad credits from College of St. Rose. The class was about 600 for 3 credits.
