Do you get any perks if you register in the store as opposed to online?

Do you get any perks if you register in the store as opposed to online?
I have started to create a wish list online but DH told me not to register online because they may give us something if we register in person. Is this true? Do you get a gift or a coupon or anything special for registering in person?

we actually found a coupon for a free cd of bedtime songs from bru if you registered there...but after we registered, when I asked the woman about it at the registry desk the next time we came in, she told me just to bring it in - so we did - and got a cute cd of about 40 songs......but it didn't matter if you registered online or not.
We also registered at bbb - and figured it would at least let us get coupons in the mail - nope, not one yet!!
