Infant day care?

I just found out that the church by my house that has day care only accepts children aged 2yrs and older.
I only need day care 1-2 days per week once the baby is 4 months old. My MIL, my mom, or any other family members are not current options for us. Any suggestions? TIAChat Icon

I am in Monroe, NY.
I went on the kindercare website and the nearest one is in suffern (about 20-25 minutes away). The web site looks good. I love the fact that I don't have to commit to 5 full days.

Has anyone used kindercare or something like it? I would be interested in comparing the best places.

ETA: I just called them and they were so nice. The prices were $175 /week for two full days. A full day is anything that is 5-12 hours. The child/teacher ratio is 4 to 1. Is this a good price? What are your thoughts? TIAChat Icon

Re: Infant day care?

Hey- My kindercare is slightly cheaper....but each center does vary in price...

They SHOULD offer you either a half day program (like 4 hrs)

A core program which runs 830-330

Or a full program which runs 630-6 (or whatever time they close)

Obviously the more hours the more $$$ it is!!!!

You could also try Kiddie Academy or Tutor time....

Check em' out..... any info re: state regs and stuff like that, Ill help you out with- so you can make sure they are following up to par.....

Its alot of $$$$ for only a couple days (I mean daycare is expensive in general) You might be better off finding a sitter or nanny.....

Anything else you have questions on feel free to ask!

Thanks Marissa! DH thought kindercare was expensive just for two days since I would only need 5-6 hours and not the full 12 they would charge me for. This whole process is very frustrating. Chat Icon
For those of you that have reliable family members that can help you with child care...count your blessings!

Re: Infant day care?

Call back and say you want the CORE day price.....

Also- Some KinderCares tend to be a little more pricey than other daycares...HOWEVER-there a huge corporation- all over the world, and isnt going anywhere...unlike the many franchises that I have seen disappear....

Get a yellow book and start calling around....Chat Icon
