Using a play yard as a bassinet?

Have any of you used the top part of your play yard as a bassinet for the baby while he/she is an infant and sleeping in your room?

Yup... we did for about 3 weeks... but Alex was a very very loud grunter so we had to move her to her crib after about 3 weeks. Then I moved the pack and play downstairs and let her nap in it during the afternoon...

We used it in our den until she reached the weight limit. It was easier than bringing her up and down the stairs for all the naps during the day.

This is how we used ours also. Up until now, Nate has been sleeping in his Arm's Reach Co-sleeper, but we're moving him to his crib this week.

Yes at my in laws and grandma's house. The matress it comes with seems thin to me, so I just bought extra matresses for them.

Jack slept that way for the first two weeks and for vacations. He is over the weight limit now and we just used it with him sleeping on the bottom pad for NYE when we went to a neighbors house so he could sleep near us.

Just don't forget to register for pads for it and sheets.
