I have 1 MONTH to get Aly sleeping by herself....HELP ME

we are travelling OOT for a wedding April 6-9

I've held off on getting her in the crib the last few days because she is so congested and I got scared she couldn't breathe.

So....I have a cool mist humidifier for the congestion-it's working.

I REALLY need advice on how to get my 2 month old sleeping in her crib AND being able to put her down awake so she will fall asleep....she's STILL falling asleep only while being held or in her swing.Chat Icon

unfortunately she is a little young for sleep training. Why not try putting her to sleep awake now, see what happens - she may surprise you and get used to it and fall asleep on her own.

Is she sleeping in her crib at night now?

She's still in our bed (I would have started a few days ago, but she got the cold and I was scared of her being alone)

I have been able to get her to nap in her crib here and there for 1-1 1/2 hrs but that's it.

She still loves to cuddle or be in her swing

Have you tried maybe setting up the pack & play in your room. Let her sleep in there for a week or so and then try moving her into her crib. At 2 months I believe babies are still young enough not to know the difference. It is a good way to still have her in your room, but yet out of the bed. Swaddling works wonders for helping them sleep longer.

As far as falling asleep on her own- I can't give much advice, because my Frankie at 3 months old still needs to be rocked to sleep.

If you can get her to nap in her crib then your halfway there! When she naps does she go in asleep or awake???
The majority of the time my babies are asleep when I put them in their cribs. Hailey doesn't mind being put in so she can be a bit groggy, but Zachary has to be out.

Thanks Tracey...

she goes down completely out because otherwise, the minute she gets out of warm arms, her eyes open up.

I got her to fall asleep in the pack n play this afternoon for a nap (I put her in awake)...took a while and she did fuss a bit. She also didn't sleep for very long.

I found that once we stopped waiting for her to fall esleep and put her in bed awake it made the world of a difference.

I dont have any experience yet but what are you planning on having her sleep in while you are OOT? Maybe you should try getting her to sleep in that so she is used to it?

Whats wrong with using the swing to help her fall asleep while you are gone?

While some 3 months old do fall asleep on their own, not all are ready. It can't be taught to all babies that young.
