How do I clean a cast iron bath tub?
Ok, this is gross. I have been scrubbing the he!! out of my bathtub for two years with every product out there, and there are stains that just will not go. They are a light orange. I even called my super, who told me the tub was cast-iron, and I was pretty lucky that the tub has such few stains. Some of the other ones he has seen are black all over.
Super fine grade sandpaper helps a little, but i don't want to damage the tub. any ideas?

Lye is extremely caustic in large concentrations... make sure to wear heavy gloves and that the room is well ventilated when/if you use it.
