wood floor in bedroom...
do you have a area rug under your bed or runners going up both sides of the bed??
If you have an area rug, what size - how much bigger than the bed?
FYI: I have a king size bed.

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
we have wood floors with nothing on them but i think we are getting an area rug... it will go about a foot past our bed on each side and about a foot or less to the front.

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
I'm going to do runners on both sides and at the foot of the bed. Our bedroom is big and we'd need a huge area rug--might as well carpet at that point. I thought the area rugs would be the better way to go and still see the floor.

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
our master bdrm is pretty big (not sure of the actual size) and i bought an 8x10 rug and realized that we need a 9x12. even w/ the bigger size there will be a decent amount (at least 2 ft) of wood around the perimeter of the rug.

why runners and not an area rug? the price is probably comparable and w/ an area rug you don't have to worry about all the dust under the bed.

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
We dont have any rugs but I think I am going to buy some. I hate getting out of bed in the morning and putting my feet on the cold floor!

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
We have a King bed and got a pretty large area rug fom Costco. Not sure of the size but we have about 2 ft of rug along the sides and bottom of the bed and then the wood.

Re: wood floor in bedroom...
Thanks everyone!!!
What size area rug to get is my next question...
Overall dimensionsof a king: 76" wide x 80" long so an 8x10 rug should be good and if I turn the rug I'll have more rug on the sides of the bed

I would have to buy a huge area rug to be worth it in the bedroom, so the price is not comparable. I can do the runners for $300 or less, but the area rugs I liked were running $500+ for the size. IMO, it's a waste to put the area rug under the bed--I would like to see my rug. I don't care about dust under the bed either--for how often I'd have to go under the bed, I'd rather be able to see what I spent my money on.[

i understand your point it if you add up 3 runners at approx $300< each isn't that somewhat comparable to a large area rug priced at around $500+?. FYI - they have some nice decent priced ones at lowes, ikea, home goods, and target.
