The dj is still playing (isnt there a law against that) and the 50 kids have now moved to our lawn.

I hear you. Last year we got back from our trip to Europe the same night our block was having the party. when it was 11 pm here (and we normally go to bed around 8:30-9... I know DH is such an old man ) it really felt like 5 AM to us because we were on Europe time. We were so exhausted from touring for 10 days and the flight that I think we slept through most of it.
Recently in-laws came back from CA the night of their block party.
