Re: how do you clean your granite counter tops?
I just use soap and water, as instructed by our contractor.
You should NOT use Windex or Fantastic, etc.

Re: how do you clean your granite counter tops?
I found this stuff in Bed Bath and Beyond and it's good for Marble and Granite. I think it's just called Marble and Granite cleaner, it's in a white spray bottle. It works wonders (and even smells pretty nice)

I was just asking someone this today. I put water and vinegar in a spray bottle and use that. It does a nice job but I am looking for something else.

Re: how do you clean your granite counter tops?
ABSOLUTELY NO AMMONIA OR AMMONIA BASED PRODUCTS!!!!
Yes, this includes most pre-mixed spray cleaners. Granite and marble are natural and porous materials. They are sealed but if you use ammonia based products the sealant will break down and you will get stains.
The cheapest and most chemically free is a spray bottle with 3 part water to one part vinegar.
ETA: You can use Glass Plus that is what my granite company recommended... it doesn't contain ammonia and is easy to get in the supermarket.

I use this Marble and Stone Cleaner from by Tile Lab, I buy it at Home Depot, and have been using it for years.

Re: how do you clean your granite counter tops?
I have a special granite cleaner-- that I use once a week since cleaners can be too abrasive for granite. Other than that-- I just use a wet paper towel.
