I am soooo mad at my mom right now!!

My cousin (through marriage) mother died. So we are going to go to the wake today. My aunt sent out an email that she was going to be away today and if anyone could take my 91 yr old aunt to the wake she'd appreciate it. Well, no one responded, basically cause nobody is going, nobody really knew the woman, but DH and I said we'd go cause for my cousin. Anyway, I am talking to my mom yesterday and she says she can't go because she is working, which is her excuse in life for everything and I said that DH and I were going to go, but we cant take 91 yr old aunt because we have a huge truck, and how will she get in it. So my mom takes it upon herself to call my aunt and say we are going, but have the truck, to which my aunt says oh, well I have a step from when we had the bronco. Now they had this Bronco truck 15 years ago when my aunt was a heck of a lot younger and in much better physical shape. To be honest besides the fact that my aunt is a half hour out of the way from where we have to go, we are affraid to "hoist" her frail body into our big azz truck, drive another hour to the funeral home and we only planned on staying for 15 minutes tops, to which now my aunt is gonna want to sit there. I am sooooo mad at my mom for even calling my aunt and mentioning this. She had no right and now I feel trapped and DH is mad at me because I just don't know how to say NO. And my aunt just called and left a message saying 91 yr old aunt is waiting at home to hear what time we are gonna pick her up, WE NEVER SAID WE WERE..Thanks MOM. I swear, I sometimes I just want to move to Syberia just so I don't have to deal with people!!

I would call 91 yr. old aunt and say you're sorry, but there was some miscommunication, and you are not able to take her. Just leave it at that.

Well if I were in your shoes I would just go and pick up the aunt, but I would tell your mother to NEVER put you in this postion again! Its very rude and inconsiderate to you and your DH.

Thats what we're doing. I feel like there is no way to say no, she's 91, and "looking foward to going" not really looking forward to where we're going, but going. I just hope for my mothers sake she does not call me today because I am at the boiling point, not just with her, with a lot of people and she is such a target right now. Its not just this whole scenario, but other stuff going on in my life right now that I feel like I am on the verge of a breakdown and this was just the cherry topping. TY girls!!
