Re: Alarms Systems

You should get assessments and quotes from multiple vendors. We use Lowitt Alarms.

We have one keypad, sensors on all of the doors that lead into/out of the house or into the garage and all the doors in the garage, glass breakage sensors on all windows (these are expensive, about $100 per window, $200 for double hung), a motion sensor and 3 fire alarms that are hooked up. I want to see about getting one of those remote clickers that will arm/disarm from outside the house, since it's getting hard to do that with a squirmy baby in my arms.

Good luck, it's a big decision.

do you have oil heat? we picked our security company (slomins) because at the time the offered the most service(oil & security) at the lowest price.

We use Brinks in our current home and are very happy with their service. Quite a few times we accidentlally set the alarm off and they call you straight away!

Re: Alarms Systems

if you belong to bj's whole sale you can get a discount with brinks.

we actually went with rainbow security. we have every door and window alarmed. also have a glass break sensor for the back door. dh constantly sets it off and the call back time is amazing. my parents used them for over 10 years. we priced out slomins, and adt but since we have voice over ip slomins and adt wanted to charge an additional 12 a month on top of the monthly service. we pay 20 a month for monitoring and its worth it.

Re: Alarms Systems

we have protection one, thats what the previous owners had all windows on the 1st floor, the 3doors and a glass sensor. on the 2nd floor 1 window and a smoke detector.

I have set it off a few time by running out to take out the dog. Called right away. Kris set off the smoke detector once with her cookingChat Icon they called immediatly and said "We detected the smoke alarm went off everything ok?" "Yup, thats just my wife cooking" Chat Icon Chat Icon
