Questions to ask the GYN
So i have an appt with my gyn on firday b/c i have really inconsistent period cycles and right now its been 42 days since my last period ( and I am not pregnant). I was just wondering if anyone could could suggest things to ask about which may be causing my long and inconsistent cycles (such as PCOS, etc.) Me and my DH would like to start trying in january and i am hoping she could help get me regular. I really hope she does not tell me I am young and its not a big deal, i have had this problem with my cycles for 5 years now and every Doctor i see is not concerned!! and now that we want to have a family i am demanding blood tests or something to make sure my hormones are OK. Does anyone think i am being ridiculous?

Re: Questions to ask the GYN
I had the same problem. My dr told me to gain some weight, which I did, and it helped a little (they were more regular but not actually regular). And when I told my dr I was thinking of TTC, he ordered blood work to check all the hormones and make sure all was in order. He said all was fine and he was right - less than two months later I was PG! So, I don't think you're out of line - ask for the blood work.
