Anyone else have a short-ish luteal phase?
I am still sort of new to charting, and I've noticed that my LP is "on the short side of normal" according to Fertility Friend. We've been ttc for a few months. I read somewhere that B Complex and evening primrose oil may help. Has anyone used either thing? Any change?

evening primrose definatly lengthened by LP. I only used it for a few months and stopped it because of that, I had a normal one to begin with , I was using it for other TTC reasons, but I noticed I went from 13-14 dyas to 16=17 days the 3 or so months I used it.

I used B complex and EPO as well. From what I understand you should only use EPO from AF to O.
Good luck!

Where do you buy EPO? Does it come in capsule form or you really have to take like a teaspoon of oil?

I found it in Rite-Aid, where the vitamins are. It's a small-ish capsule.

EPO=evening primrose, helps with cervical mucus. You can purchase it at any store that sells vitamins/herbs. EPO I was told not to take EPO during the 2ww, because it can cause the uterus to contract, and therefore, make implantation difficult...so you take it from AF to O.
B complex is basically all the b vitamins and extra folic acid...which helps with the circulatory system, this can sometimes extend the luteal phase...as well as vitamin D.
However, if you notice your luteal phase to be shorter than 12 days, I would definitely see my ob/gyn and get some hormone testing done.

Hi, I have a short luteal phase of just eight days and was looking through the messages on this site when I read your message about evening primrose oil. I would like to try this but wonder what strength of capsule I should take.

If your LP is only 8 days you should get yourself to your MD ASAP. LP needs to be at least 10 days for implantation to occur.

The more I read these boards, the more "issues" I find with my body. My LP is only 10 days. This is really starting to get depressing.

Re: Anyone else have a short-ish luteal phase?
I originally thought I had a short LP until I started using OPK's and realized when I thought I was ovulating was wrong and I actually have a normal LP. Before you all panic, make sure that you have verified exactly when you O with an OPK and count from that date to when AF arrives. If still less than 10 days, see your OB/GYN.

Good idea. I will do this first. Thanks!
