Pour some windex into a little glass and heat in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds (so its reallllly hot)....remove the glass from the microwave, put the rings in the glass and let them soak for a while. The windex will NOT harm gold, plat, or diamonds. (DO NOT use this on soft stones and/or pearls!) Brush with a really soft toothbrush or the jewelry cleaner brush, then rinse with water.
and if that doesn't work, soak in a combo of ammonia and water (I use 2 parts water, 1 part ammonia) - simmer on low on the stove for about 10 minutes.....brush with a really soft toothbrush or the little brush that comes with most jewelry cleaners, then rinse.
Both of these combos are *safe* - my jeweler uses the ammonia all the time.
Good luck!
