furniture from Noth Carolina?
I remember some people talking here about buying furniture from the south and having it shipped to save some money. How do I do this. We need a new bedroom set and have very little money. Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

Re: furniture from Noth Carolina?
WE saw our dining room set in Fortunoff's, got the manufacturer and model numbers from them of what we wanted, and then called Royal Interiors in NC on a recommendation and ordered from them.
We are so happy we did. We saved almost $2500 and everything was perfect. We had to pay 1/2 in deposit, with a check, and then remaining upon satisfactory delivery. It did take the full 16 weeks though once we ordered, mainly because our set was handmade in Canada.
The delivery was perfect, they came when they said they would, they set up and put it in my dining room, and even took away all the boxes.
Here's the website, I highly recomend the place: Royal Interiors

I live in NC. If you buy furniture in NC and have it delivered, you don't pay any sales tax!
Back when we first moved down we bought furniture in NC and lived right over the border in SC and had it delivered and saved by not having to pay the sales tax. We had no idea. It was a great surprise!

Re: furniture from Noth Carolina?
We did this with our dining room set, and while we did save money, the delivery was a complete disaster compounded by the fact that we could not easily reach them to complain, because we could not just walk in to the place. Do not use FurnitureLandSouth, it took us 6 months to get a china cabinet with doors that closed and they kept jerking us around saying that we were being picky. The doors literally did not close at all on the cabinet, is that really so much to ask.
