Re: installing a medicine cabinet
Is it going in the wall or just attached to a bracket on the wall? When we moved in to our house DH and his brother had to put together and put up our medicine cabinet. I don't think it was that hard to hang it up - it took more time to put it together.

Re: installing a medicine cabinet
well, there is one already there...my landlord said we can replace it if we want...the mirror is tarnishing. It's the kind in the wall. So far he are having trouble finding one with lights that reasonably priced...she we are not the home owners and don't want to spend a lot.

Re: installing a medicine cabinet
Since you are renting I would save your $$$. Depending on what kind you choose it could be alot of money. I would save it for when you get your own house.
I know how you feel that since you live there you want to make it nice. I rented apartments for about 6 years and always did renovations - but IMO I would just leave it.
AND - also - I do feel that if it is tarnishing and in bad condition your landlord should pay for it. AND install it.

Re: installing a medicine cabinet
I know...we feel they should too or pay for half...but they just said, sure you can do what you want to it. So, we don't want to stare at it for 2 years. We figured spending about $200 is worth it..then looking at the ugly thing first thing every morning.
We are NOT going expensive on it. If I could find cheap stick on mirrors of the same side I'd put them on top (it's a 3 door cabinet)

Re: installing a medicine cabinet
I totally understand. When I moved into a place a few years ago the carpet was an awful orange color. We split the cost with the landlord. I think they should def. contribute to this since you are making a change for the better!!
