How much does it cost to rent a stable in Long Island?
I love horses and DH and I are looking into some houses that have horse stalls on the property. How much do you think we can rent them out for? I've been searching online and in classifieds and can't find a thing on it.
Thanks!

I don't know how much they cost, but it might be worth giving a call to a local tack store near where these properties are and asking them, they can probably give you a pretty good answer as they are already in the equestrian community/

this probably won't help much... my sister owns 2 horses, but in CA. she pays $400 a month for each one. that includes housing, feeding them and cleaning their poop.

Re: How much does it cost to rent a stable in Long Island?
when i used to keep my horse at cuamsett...it would range from $500-$1000 based on which barn and how much assistance was needed - cleaning stall, feed, workouts for the horse, tacking horse before riding
another stable you may want to call to see what they charge is Stonyhill in northport
something to keep in my is the ability to access horse trails and or space to set up jumps

I would guess somewhere in the range of $800-1000. It depends on location and what you will be providing.
Check this site for some ideas. A lot of LI horse people advertise and use it

Holy Crap, thats probably really cheap! When I used to ride on LI it was like $400 a month, and that was in 1988!!! Move to Vermont, Vershire in particular, its fantastic horse country (and I went to camp there for years and years...)

Cal, so many people who live in that area have horses. there are stables everywhere. so that probably helps keep the price low.
