Re: Do you think you can plan the sex of your baby??
Well, just by using methods yourself...i don't think so. I don't believe in it, b/c I know a couple that tried everything to conceive boys...and got two girls.
But medically it is possible...as sad as it is. I remember seeing it on TV, that sex selection can be done, for a steep cost. I really don't know the facts or all that much about it, but i do remember seeing the end of the program and shaking my head. So many people dying for just a healthy baby and this comes along...

There are ways you can try to 'assist" but there aren't guarantees obviously.
Cervical mucus that is more alkaline is friendlier to male sperm. There are certain foods and supplements women eat/take that help that.
There are certain foods and supplements others take to have a girl.
Timing Bding is another way people try. They say if you want a girl, don't bd the day you ovulate...bd a day or two before.
If you want a boy make sure you bd the exact day of O .
Male sperm swim faster but don't live as long. Female sperm slower, but can live longer.

Fertility Friend has a whole board dedicated to gender selection. An Alkaleine diet is one that is rich in veggies and fruits, steering away from carbs, animal protein, dairy , caffeine and alcohol as much as possible.
However, some of the ladies have a whole diet plan they follow. Sorry I don't know that much about this.

Just on a lark, we used this method with my firstborn (and I used it with my second one but shhhh...). WebMD's Ovulation Calendar gives the "Try for a Boy, Try for a Girl" option - along with some tips about caffeine, etc. It worked both times for me but I'm not 100% sure that was the reason. In the end, you can BD all you want the day you O, and if DH produces less Y chromosome sperm than you're out of luck. Based on this theory, it is much easier to have a girl since you can BD for more days than just the day you O.
Don't forget there is a day of recharging in order for DH to store up - you aren't supposed to BD every day if you're having fertility issues.
