Menstrual cycle changes after birth
I have heard our cycles can go back to normal as they were before pregnancy, get much worse, heavier - longer, etc or be much better, lighter - less days etc... How was it for all of you?

Heavy for days 1-3...to the point of being concerned. I think it could also have to do with the fact that from Jan 2001 - Nov 2003 I only had 2 periods because either I was pregnant or nursing during that time.

I asked a question last night about cycles! Mine stayed pretty much the same except went from 28 day cycle to 26 days Dec, Jan, Feb and March. Now I'm on cycle day 31, and no, I'm not pregnant, so I have no idea what's going on!

I've noticed that my cycles are longer too. I used to be day 24 on the dot - Now I'm like day 30 - 35. I hope it starts to get regular soon!

I BF Julia, so I got my period back when she was 6 mths old, and it was HEAVY! I thought I was hemroging (sp?) I called my Dr and he told me to come in so he could see if it was my period or not, I was sooo nervous. It turned out it was a "heavy period", then after that they were very light, but lasted much longer now. I use to skip months before I got pregnant, and now I get it every month, so it did help me out too.

My cycles are pretty much the same, off maybe 1-2 days, but I'm so bad at keeping track ever since I got it back... but it is MUCH heavier now...

After Andrew, my periods came back right away and weren't any heavier than I remembered them.

My period lasts longer, is SO much heavier and painful. I never had cramps before, now they're bad.

First 2 days were heavy, but after that it was light and was gone within 2 days. Very unusual for me since I always used to have AF for at least 7 days. Not that I am complaining about that!

my 1st one was 4 or 5 days long and relatively light...this one is a full week now and showing no signs of stopping
