Dive Bars
So when I was younger my friends and I used to go to some dive-y bars in the city. I haven't been to any on LI, and I think the ones out here are scarier.
There is one near my house that for some reason intrigues me but I am scared s!!tless of it - THE LAUREL in East Northport. Anyone ever been in there?

YES! One time I was waiting on line for the ladie's room in there, I think it was Cow Harbor Day, and a young woman who was very drunk tried to take a swing at me! Turns out she was aiming for the person behind me on line, but I had no idea at the time and was totally shocked. Thank goodness she was so drunk that she missed. I remember trying to talk to her to help her outside b/c she was a mess but she got very beligerent.

The Laurel is harmless - really just an old man bar just like Gunther's. These dive bars are a lot of fun...don't knock them till you try them.

I like talking to WW2 vets, they remind me of my grandfathers.

I used to work in a dive bar and had a lot of fun. They look worse then they were. You might actually have fun in the Laurel.
