Re: gripe water?
I wanted to use it with DS, and both the pharmacist and the ped. recommended against it. They said while many people use it, there is no actual proof that it is effective, and there are not studies to show its effects on babies. If you want to try something more aggressive, I would recommend speaking to a ped. GI. Ours was exceptionally helpful with both kids.

Re: gripe water?
I used Baby Bliss and it didn't seem to do anything. IMO, waste of money.

Re: gripe water?
I use the one from BRU and I think it seems to work. I have also used the Baby Bliss brand that I got at Vitamin Shoppe and I think that worked as well. I don't know if it was a placebo effect or not, but DD always seems to be helped by it.

Re: gripe water?
I didn't find it to work, and I also though tit tasted and smelled so gross.
The ped said we could try it but it probably wouldn't work and he was right.
Make sure you buy the alcohol free.

It's something you can give to babies to try to help their bellies when they seem to have colic symptoms. It has fennel and chamomile in it.

Re: gripe water?
I used colic ease from my local health food store and i dont think it worked either. Jacob was on zantac and i still gave it to him with no bad effects.

there are no studies on it because it is a nautral rememdy. there is niothing in natural gripe water that in the recommended dosages could harm a child ( i say that because too much of anything can make a baby have a belly ache) i used it on my oldest daughter and she responded very well too it. much better than the prescription for gas we were given.

Re: gripe water?
I've discussed this with family members who had AR babies and they never tried it.
However my SIL's father SWEARS by chamomille tea. He said growing up with all his younger sibs his mom always had a pot of it at room temp on the counter and would give it to the babies when they needed it -- and he said they used it with my SIL and her siblings and it worked wonders.

My ped was pretty adamant that we NOT use it.
