HELP! I'm on the verge or nervous breakdown or killing my dog
Seriously.....I need major help. I know my frustration level is elevated because I'm PG and all....but..... THE ONLY REASON HE'S NOT GONE IS BECAUSE HE AND BAILEY GET ALONG SO WELL!!!!
We've had Boomer about 3 months now....he'll be a year old on July 31. We caved and let him sleep in the bed. He's only in his cage when we are both out of the house and I can get him to hold his pee 5-6 hours if he drinks NO WATER before we go to work.
For 3 days after we had family over with their 2 dogs (one of which is VERY dominant) he pooped in the house once each day. I understand it was probably his routine being interrupted, etc.
Last night he peed because I pushed him to not go out too long (he drank water at 8 and I tried to push till like 9:30 for his last out before bed), then he DH took him out to pee again at 10 which he did.
Today, he peed at 8:30am, came back to bed with me till 11:30 (yes...they like to sleep in), pooped outside, then around 1 after playing with Bailey, jumped up on his chair and proceeded to pee on the blanket on top of it.....
NORMALLY, he jumps at the back door to tell me he needs to go out.
The number of accidents is ALOT less than what it was, but is it normal for a 1 yr old pup to do this????
Is it normal for a beagle to be SO routine driven?? Or is it the pug?

Re: HELP! I'm on the verge or nervous breakdown or killing my dog
Maybe it was just the disruption of having the family and the 2 dogs over...maybe he is not "over" it yet. He is still young, I'm sure it's just his age. He'll improve!!

Wasnt he from rescue too? Maybe no one ever taught him properly so in his head he is still a puppy as far as housebreaking.
