Bridal Shower Gift for a VERY good friend...suggestions?
I want to do something special and not just buy off the registry (and to save some $$).
any suggestions?
I was thinking a "honeymoon" basket but not sure what to put in it

A honeymoon basket sounds great. If their honeymoon is in the Caribbean or some place warm....you can put sun tan lotions, flip flops (they have those that leave the footprints about being married), a hat, a wrap in a color that can be used with different bathing suits, chapstick etc.)

I like the honeymoon basket idea - at mine I got a great gift from a bm. She put a whole bunch of stuff you would need for wine and a party in a wine bucket and got us fun wine glasses - there were coasters, bottle opener, stoppers, cheese knives, wine charms and a whole bunch of other small items.
I have also seen baskets with themes - like things for a fun dinner party with drink mixes, shaker, martini glasses, etc.

I loved my towel cake!
I didn't recieve one, but I like the HM basket idea too. Maybe throw in a guidebook, towels, bug repellent.

Re: Bridal Shower Gift for a VERY good friend...suggestions?
I was the same way with a honeymoon basket - I had no idea what to put in it.
I made 2 baskets for my friends shower last month. One was a wine basket - it had wine (of course), glasses, corkscrew set, coasters, bottle toppers and stuff like that.
The other basket was full of picture frames. I went to LNT and BBB (with my coupons of course) and bought them all there - actually bought a couple in Marshalls too. The reason I did this one too - was because after my wedding I had to go out and buy sooooo many picture frames, I think I got 2 at my shower.

I don't think I have a pic on here, but I made an ironing board "person" for my aunt and it was a real hit. Take an ironing board and put an apron around it. You can use potholders for the hands, colander for the face, mop for the hair. You can get really creative, it was really cute!
