paxil and drinking alcohol
does/has anyone here taken paxil before? Can you drink at all on it? Im wondering because Ive just recently started taking this for my anxiety attacks and it clearly says on the bottle to not drink, I have a wedding on Sat and Im wondering would it be ok to have a few drinks( not bombed or anything- still have a 15 month old to come home to  ) or is it a big no- no? What would happen if I had a few drinks? I cant imagine not drinking at all, ever again

I was on paxil for years before I started TTC....I drank all the time and a lot on occasion. NEver once had a problem.
I drank wine a lot and at parties would more then not have too much...LOL

my brother was on it for years and I remember him having an occassional beer. BUT, let me check with him first. He wasn't always consistent with it so it's possible he wasn't taking it when he'd have a drink.

You really shouldn't drink with anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medicines.
I would have a drink or too but not over do it.

I've had no problems with Prozac. I know it says not too, but I've never noticed any adverse reaction or anything.

i wouldnt do it. my friends friend drank and took zoloft and he wound up having a heart attack. he was a young guy.

First off, sorry about the panic attacks- I used to get them and they are no picnic.
I was put on an antidepressant for my anxiety (they worked). At first I was really paranoid about side effects, so I avoided drinking for awhile. Long story short- I eventually started drinking again (in moderation), with no adverse side effects.

I wouldn't ..the reason being is everyones body is made differently so some people may not get a reaction others might ... IMO I would choose which one was more important to me having a few drinks with a chance of something or not drinking knowing I will be ok .

my brother was on Paxil for 3 years, and every time he drank, he would get violent. The Doctor told him it effects people in different ways.

It never affected me, but like everyone else said, it can have different effects on everyone.
