Newsday delivery question

our delivery is auto-charged to our credit card, so I never get a bill - just like a monthly statement. The newspaper woman wrote on top of this month's statement - "gratuities are appreciated". I thought gratuity was included in what was charged to your credit card????

Does anyone know for sure? I am going to feel really bad if this poor woman hasn't been getting a tip all this time!!

I never even get a monthly statement, so your guess is as good as mine.

Re: Newsday delivery question

Gratuity is not included. I think my mom gave an extra $10 a month or something.

I know, at first my mom gave a big tip at the holidays but then started with the monthly. I'm not sure what a good weekends only tip would be...I'm sure anything is appreciated!

Re: Newsday delivery question

A Co worker of mine delievers newsday as a second job and I actually asked him about it. He said that no one that has auto billing tips anymore. He said he dosnt even bother to but the statements in the paper for the auto billers.

I personally feel that they are including it in the delivery fee since I pay $5 a week and the paper would only cost me $4.50 if I went to the store to get it.

Re: Newsday delivery question

My IL give us a subscription as part of anniversary gift. I never even think about it - though we did give a holiday tip. How do I give them a tip when they just drop the paper on the driveway wayyy before I plan on being up on a weekend? (sometimes it is in the mailbox, sometimes in a bag on the driveway.)
