How do you clean your granite countertop?
We just got our granite counter installed and I dont know the best way to clean it. It's a dark color and looks streaky when I wipe it.
Also..any other tips on upkeep are greatly appreciated. TIA

I had to impregnate my granite. You should ask your installer if you need to do this as well.
I just clean it with soap and water. I've heard mixed things on using windex so I don't use it. It's pretty easy to maintain.

Re: How do you clean your granite countertop?
I've posted about this many times. My FIL is a kitchen designer and has worked closely with a granite/marble wholesaler for years...
1. ABSOLUTELY NO AMMONIA BASED PRODUCTS!!!! They strip the sealant that is applied to granite and marble. GRanite and marble are naturally porous and if you strip the sealant they will stain.
2. Vinegar and water. The acidity of the vinegar will disinfect. I have black granite and yes, I have to wipe it dry to avoid streaks.
3. Glass Plus- Unlike, Windex and many other spray cleaners it does not contain ammonia. The granite and marble wholesaler told me to use it and that's what they use to clean the slabs in the showroom
