Big trouble for the Yanks - Boston gets Beckett

I would like someone explain to me how a team that doesn't have a GM... can pull off the biggest robbery of a trade that will probably happen all season.
Boston is going to get Josh Beckett from Florida. Yeah they also have to take Mike Lowell and his crappy contract... but all they are giving up are a couple of minor leaguers.
Becket OWNED the Yanks in the 03 playoffs.
Im sorry... but assuming Boston keeps Manny... when you have Boston with Beckett going up against the Yanks with Johnson... the edge now goes to the Sox.
I am curious how the Yanks will counter this move.

The only saving grace for the yanks in regards to this is... most likely Manny is a goner. Manny will go to either the Mets (not a big deal for the Yanks)... or Anaheim (BIG deal for the Yanks).
Can you picture Manny batting after Vlad Guerrero? Oh boy.
