Do you miss your baby like crazy?
I know I'm posting way too much tonight -- but I have to ask this -- I've been missing Emily SO much lately. I know a lot of it has to do with me working so much and now being registered for three classes this semester (ugh) and my time with her being so limited .... but I seriously miss her like crazy lately.
I put her in her crib at night and go to bed in my room, and feel like she is just so far away from me. I just want her there with me in my room so that I can wake up in the middle of the night and see her.
When I put her in the back seat in the car after picking her up from the babysitters I miss her like crazy too, I just want to sit back there and let someone ELSE drive so I can be right next to my little girl.
Do any of you have these huge feelings of missing your babies? Especially full-time working moms?

Yes. I miss Molly every day that she is at daycare. I call every single day at 1pm to ask how her day is going. When I pick her up and she runs to me and screams "mommy" ...well nothing beats that.

Re: Do you miss your baby like crazy?
My call is at 2pm. Yes I miss them alot. We do silly things to get them & me through the day.
Every morning at daycare, I kiss both of their palms. They put their hand to their face to see if "it's working" and they could feel my kisses. They kiss my palm, I put it to my check to check if I can feel their kisses. Later on if they miss me, they put their hand to their cheek . It makes them feel better (and me too), even if it's corny & completely made up.

When I go back to work full time next month.. .. I know that I will feel this way. I miss Ryan when my mom is watching him for a couple hours when I run errands sometimes, so I know I will be so upset to leave him for 8+ hours per day!

I just got a lump in my throat reading this - that is so so sweet!!!
You don't have to ask me twice about missing Michael - the time I am at work and commuting home is the worst part of my day! When I walk in the door and Michael screeches with excitement, my heart just melts! I'm miserable during the day and am counting the days (months) until I don't have to do this anymore

Re: Do you miss your baby like crazy?
you are reading my mind. I was laying on the couch at like 10 pm last night and I was so overcome with a feeling of needing to hug her and have her in my arms, that only a small part of rationality prevented me from running in her room and picking her up...
I also got to pick her up from daycare yesterday before her doc appt and I am so jealous of DH now, cuz it was the BEST part of my day...and I never get to do it. I have to leave her every moring
I guess it's just part of being working moms...but ut definitely s%cks sometimes...

This is the sweetest thing, and not corny at all.......
I miss her terribly during the day and I am in such a rush to get to her once work is over. I find that I get so stressed if there is traffic or I am running late at all. I feel comforted that I know she is happy at my moms house, but it is still so hard.
I find that the guilt is the hardest thing to handle, like on some days I am so tired and dont make the car ride home 'fun' by singing or anything, and while she is content to just enjoy the ride, I feel such pressure to make every single moment quality time....
to everyone........

We do something like this too! Except I kiss my daughter's hand and she puts the kiss in her pocket and if she needs me later on that day she pulls the kiss out of her pocket. There is a book called "the kissing hand" and that is where we got it from, they read it to all the kindergarten classes in September. I miss my kids like mad when I work, but befire I know it it;s time to go home and enjoy the CHAOS!!!

Oh -- just like the Kissing Hand !!! Have you read Counting Kisses? It's the sequel about the character's sibling who has to go to school!!

Re: Do you miss your baby like crazy?
I absolutely know what you are feeling and I only work full time - no school (thank god I did that before the baby). I feel that I don't spend enough time with my six month old in the evening. I pick him up and get home around 6:30 p.m. He eats and then it's bathtime at 8:00 p.m. I tried to stretch it out but he's so tired from all of the stimulation. When we wake up it's a mad rush to get him to the babysiter. It really stinks. I have been waking up a little earlier so I can feed him in the morning and then at night. I also just stopped nursing - it was so hard to pump while at work-and that has been very sad for me. I feel like I have failed him-you'll see that post.
You are not alone. Our children love us and we are ultimately doing everything to make things better for the future so we can have more time. You're amazing and you should be very proud of yourself. Your daughter will appreciate all that you are someday especially when she is older and you tell her how busy you were. She'll think that you were and are amazing.
