questions for you girls???
Is it true that you can take Flintstone vitamins instead of the prenatal vitamins? I havent been able to take my prenatals in over a week because I have bad all day sickness and think maybe the chewable vitamins will be better. I am so scared that I am harming the baby by not taking vitamins
TIA!

Re: questions for you girls???
Yes but just be sure you get at least 8mcg of folic acid. Have you tried taking them at bedtime? That's the only time of day I could take them. They also make prescription chewable prenatals.

Re: questions for you girls???
I know I had a couple of days where I was naseous enough that I couldn't take them so I crushed them up and mixed them in with some applesauce. It did the trick.

Re: questions for you girls???
I have heard you can take a chewable flintstone if need be. I have a very sensitive stomach to vitamins even when I am not pregnant - the only way I can get and keep them down is by taking it right after a full meal, like dinner. have you tried this?
good luck!

Re: questions for you girls???
I can't handle the prenatals either. So, my doctor said that I can take 2 flintstones vitamins instead. I have been doing this for almost my entire pregnancy, the baby is just fine.

Re: questions for you girls???
Just a suggestion, take the prenatals with dinner or just before you go to bed, that way you sleep through the sickness feeling. I take mine just before bed every night.

I do this too. Also, they have particular vitamins with more b-1 in them which is supposed to help with the nausea. Maybe ask your doctor for them. Also, 0.8mg of folic acid is the minimum you should get. Studies show that 1mg shows dramatic results over 0.8mg. If you eat enough breads and cereals you should be okay though, as these foods are fortified with folic acid.

Re: questions for you girls???
I always take my Prenatals with lunch which is normally my biggest meal of the day. That seemed to help.
