Flip that house on TLC (xpost)

I just posted this on home too but am x-posting...

There is a marathon of the show about flipping houses on TLC tonight. We are watching it and it is interesting. This guy just flipped a house in Watts, CA and bought it for $265K and put $23k into it and sold it for $425k!!!!

I saw that one too. The house was so gross to begin with! The milk on the counter was so nasty. Chat Icon

Oh yea -- it was totally gross. The entire yard was filled with garbage. At first I thought it was a Katrina house but then I saw it was in CA. I can't imagine WHY there was stuff all over the place like that -- and then the kitchen -- open foil food etc all over and who knows for how long.

But hey -- if you are able to make the investment something like that REALLY pays off. I keep telling my DH that if we had the money it would be something to get into -- because you can really make such a great profit on things like that.

I totally agree. That guy really knew what he was doing. I think he even came in under budget.

Did you happen to see Property Ladder? It was on before Flip that House yesterday. This woman was doing her first flip and she completely blew her budget and then wasn't able to sell the house by the time the show aired.

I've never seen property ladder. Honestly we usually watch children's channels when the baby is awake and then bravo for project runway or the food network when she goes to sleep -- i just happened to be flipping through the channels and thought it looked interesting...

Re: Flip that house on TLC (xpost)

i like flip that house and it seems like a great way to make money. but half the shows i see, they go over budget and can't sell the house. mostly b/c they are diy'ers and think they can do it all. i think if you are experienced you can really make money.
