Wiretapping spinoff: For security reasons...

If you had to send in notification to the gov't a week before you flew anywhere..so they could monitor who was on each plane, and it could prevent terrorists from boarding, would you agree to this?

(I guess this is directed at the people who dont ind being searched or wiretapped, b/c I assume the people who are against wiretapping would be against this too.... I feel like something like this could be the next step...)

I am sure if the gov't wanted to - they could get manifests of all the flights before they take off.

But many people don't know their exact travel plans the week before. What about people who need to fly for an emergency???? Would this prevent them from flying because they haven't been cleared?

I would not mind if the government looked at all the manifests to determine who was on each plane prior to them taking off - but there are already "do not fly" lists for known terrorists - so I am not sure what the point of this would be......
