IVF with egg donor? have you done it? thought about it? know of anyone whose done it? etx?

my hub and i made the decision to go ahead with IVF. so... there are some concerns ...

1) how long is the process?
2) bi-racial baby.

how long is the process? how many visits to the doc's did you make? miscarriages? concerns? etx.

my hub and i are both asian and we're going with a white baby. has anyone (or know of one) decided to get a different raced egg here who can share their thoughts, feelings, etx? anyone here bi-racial? i keep telling my hub that for those who would poke fingers and make their dumb comments are just plain idiots and it's their problem they have deal with. but still.. thinking from the child's perspective.. anyone bi-racial here who can share their experience?

I'm going through IVF (my first cycle) right now. I'm trying to remember how long it was - I think 6 weeks total from start until the PG test.
But, we're using my eggs, not an egg donor. So I really don't know how long it would take you. Maybe you should change your subject to "has anyone done IVF with egg donor"?

we went to NYU also to get our 2nd opinion. we met with Dr Grifo. nice guy but i found him to be a lil antsy when it comes to staying put for a conversation. we've decided to go with Dr Grazi of Genesis Fertility. Because we've been going to him since the beginning and also our insurance will cover some whereas it won't cover a darn cent of Grifo's. from your price quotes it's a big difference from NYU and Genesis. with Genesis we're going with sharing our donor's eggs which comes out to approx $11g (exclusive is approx $21g). well, i guess not that big of a difference. we're also thinking adoption for the same reason. and with adoption your chances of getting a baby is definite.
