Corned Beef

Can you make this is the crock pot? Or is it easier to just boil it?

Any instructions? I never made it before. TIA

Re: Corned Beef

i've made it in the crock pot, and didn't like it as much as boiling it.

This is how I make it, it's not really very scientific though.

Put corned beef in large pot with water covering 3/4 of it, and add seasoning packet (if no seasoning packet, use a handful of whole peppercorns)
Cook on HIGH for 20mins, then low for about 3 hours, until meat is tender(turning the meat every once and a while during that time)

Depending on the size of it, it may be done. I usually get a 4 or 5 lb. one.

Re: Corned Beef

being Irish, I've only ever boiled it, but I'm sure you could do it in a crock pot. Any soft roast meat I'm sure would taste yummy in a crock pot

Re: Corned Beef

We make it in the crcok pot. We put in a half an onion, carrots, cabbage, potatoes and use apple juice instead of water. The acidity of the apple juice makes it even more tender! YUM!
