Xpost...digital Cameras??
might be something we buy with our GC....
I'd LOVE one that takes a pic faster than the Powershot I have now...I miss all of Alys' expressions and always get the "Who Me?" look.

Re: Xpost...digital Cameras??
(I posted on the other thread )
I just got a Digital SLR because I wanted all the things you are looking for.
I got the Canon Rebel XT (350D) and so far I love it. I am also an amateur and really need to learn how to use it to its potential, but it is so fast I am no longer missing shots. Quality is great, 8.2 mp, and I was using it out of the box. (another plus is all my lenses from my regular Canon SLR fit the digital)
I already had a Canon Powershot A95 which is great too, but WAY too slow and has 5 or 6 mp. I was missing everything. (not to mention I had just started getting the dreaded E18 error message) So I already had the Canon software, the XT just upgraded it all.
If you have the money to spend, I would get the SLR.

Re: Xpost...digital Cameras??
I second an SLR. We recently purchased a Nikon D50 with 2 lenses and it is great. Well worth the money.

Third the digital SLR. I would stick with the Canons & Nikons. Check out the prices at B&H Photo Video so you can price knock the sales person down before pulling out your gc.

Re: Xpost...digital Cameras??
I would agree with Donna Marie, I have a Canon 350D and it has a fast response, so you don't miss those shots. Also the mutliple shot function allows you to snap away very quickly, so if you take 50 pics, you are bound to get some good ones. Also, you can get memory cards with like 300 pics, so you can snap away to your hearts delight!!
My husband has just said that Canon has just done a new version called the 400D, so it has a faster shutter speed...so I would look into that one. Totally worth the output...
