Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
a vaginal birth. Ever since I got PG I wondered this. I ended up with a c/s so obviously I never got my answer. Is sex different after a vaginal birth? Do things um, change, down there? Does it make a difference whether or not you tore or got an episiotomy?

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
i had a vag birth, and an episiotomy - my dr added an extra stitch or two...so once i was healed, it was a little more 'snug'....and oh so good.

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
For me the first few times afterwards did feel different, like my episiotomy was going to tear open (sorry if TMI). It gets better thank god.

Agreed . After 3 vaginal births all which required a stitich or 2 or 3, I feared about being to loose , but it is quite the opposite!!

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
In the beginning it was different - more information that you really ever want to know --- but there is a "dryness" issue for the first few months. Not sure if this is everyone or just V-births. Both with an episiotomy and a tear, nothing was different.
After that, back to normal.

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
I had an episiotomy and I didnt have any issues after it healed. Felt the same as before. My husband had to take a "peek" down there to make sure it was all healed up! After watching me give birth I guess he was a little traumatized the first time he was gonna "GO BACK IN".... MEN!!!!!!

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
It was a few weeks to heal. Usually you are given the go ahead at 4-6 weeks. Many people are still bleeding (not a lot) at 4 weeks.

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
in my experience....I tore slightly...the Dr said it would have been the same had she cut me. There are certain positions in which friction irritates my scar.
According to DH....his "fear" of sex being different is null and void....he says it doesn't "feel" different at all. From my point of view.....some "things" are easier and sex seems to be better (when we do have it!)

Same here although sometimes where I tore is very sensitive...I just power through though and it gets better The whole "stretched out" saying is total BS, I was the total other extreme afterwards.

Re: Personal (TMI) question for those who had...
it hurt the first time becase i thought i was going to rip again. i was cut and then tore so i was stiched from front to back. i was very uncomfortable the first time but it did get better and i was able to relaxand not worried about ripping again.

YAY!!! I can finally answer this question!!! I finally had sex 8 months PP!!!! I always had pain when we had sex so now I am actually a little looser and sex has been sooooo much better. I guess I am the opposite.

My MIL told me before I delivered that she found sex to be better after (nice to hear that from your MIL), but I find it to be sooo true! IMPO.
