omg-- check out this product!!

The tummy tub is designed for babies under 6 month and is supposed to ease the transition from the mother's womb. It seems like a much easier way to give a newborn a bath!

My BIL and SIL in Germany use this for their DD. It seems very common in Europe. When they sent pics of them giving my niece a bath, my MIL goes, "Great, they're giving my granddaughter a bath in a garbage can!" LOL!! It doesn't look like it would be easier to give the baby a bath in that.

Re: omg-- check out this product!!

My sister has this and LOVES it...she lives in europe. IMO I think its nuts...you need two people to bathe the baby - one to hold the baby and one to wash etc....and it doesnt look at all comfortable to me but to each their own.

Yeah, I was also going to say that they are popular in the UK. I like the look of them, but the tub is enough for my bug!

Re: omg-- check out this product!!

The obvious question is...what happens if they pee or poo in the tub?
It looks like it would be difficult to get them out of it fast to change the water.Chat Icon

That looks uncomfortable for both baby AND parents!! How the heck are you supposed to bathe him in that? There's no room to lather or anything!

There's something that really rubs me the wrong way about this product. I mean really, let's stuff a baby into a bowl to replicate the womb. Give me a break!

I agree! what's next? a car seat that duplicates the womb? and after that - a bicycle that duplicates the womb?

the baby is out, get them used to being OUT of the womb
