Real Estate Attorneys

Can anyone recommend a good real estate attorney in Nassau county (or one in Queens who will travel)?

DH and I had a few recommendations, but one we didn't like, one was very expensive IMO ($7000 was her estimate to help us with our co-op sale and the purchase of a house), and another we liked but he has been very slow to return calls. Another guy we pulled from the phone book, but he came with no recommendations. He sounds okay, though a bit high again.

Also, if you don't mind FMing me costs, I am curious. The quotes we received seemed to be all over the place. I have no idea what's normal at this point.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Real Estate Attorneys

I don't know about the difference for coops or houses but my real estate attorney cost $950 as a buyer of the house.

$7000?!!!!

That sounds nuts!

Thanks for the recommendations and the dose of reality. $7000 sounded nuts to me, but I've never hired anyone to do this sort of work before. We're not buying a multi-million dollar estate! Just selling a co-op (hopefully) and trying to buy a moderately (for LI) priced home.

Thanks again!
