How will we get all the painting done?
We need to paint most of the inside of our house, but how do we do that with a 2 yr old running around? I know I can take him out for the days we're painting, but how would I keep him from touching the painted areas? It's not like he'll listen to me!

Can you get him to help do the taping? If you try to get him involved maybe he won't try to mess it up. After the room is taped, one should paint and the othershould take him out of the room. Once the room is done lock or barricade the door. Otherwise, send him off to the grandparents or hire a babysitter.

A 2 year old helping with the taping? Thats stretching it.
He would probably tape the areas where the paint is wet.

I tape before I paint not after - and I did not mean to suggest that it would be neat in any way. But after the child leaves - fix it to make a straight edge. I like to think a child who helps out with something would take better care of it later and that was the point of asking for the child's help. Also it would depend if the child is barely 2, or 2 almost 3. If the child is barely 2 - then get a babysitter.

I tend to agree with this. My niece will be 2 in mid-April and she just helped my sister & BIL paint her "big girl room". She loved showing me the wall she painted It was really cute.
