Fire in Long Beach today...
I am watching this on the news now. Some people lost thier pets  , but most of the dogs survived. No people were hurt, thank God.

Just read about it on Newsday online.
How awful!!! I don't know if it was mentioned on the news - but they said they are pretty sure it started because of a "careless smoker"

It was at 65 west broadway. My DH is a fireman and was there. Just found out.

My brother was supposed to be moving in one of those apartments this past weekend. Beleive it or not, he was lazy b/c of the crappy weather and was gonna do it this weekend.
He just had the rugs installed on Friday. His entire apartment full of soot---all windows are all broken. One dalmation died which was on the apartment above him and my brother has a dalmation of his own. He's so upset.........
And when he was up there today, they were saying it could be arson. One of the ladies who lived there, who happens to be a wack job, started the fire when she I guess left a lit cigarette......and apprantly people saw her get in a cab to leave immediately after.
I hope they can give him his deposit back at least.

WHAT? Another fire!!! I think I know that building. I saw those advertised apt rentals when I was looking - there is sex offender registrant in that complex.
The fire was not that far from the other fire in those townhouses by the boardwalk.
I hope that is the last of them for a while.

My cousin was talking to a friend of his outside the Tiki Bar last night and he was saying he just signed a lease in that place 2 weeks ago and that he just put new carpet in. I wonder if this was your brother? He looked pretty out of it and upset. I hope all works out.
