Red Accent Walls

I am off all next week and am considering taking the time to paint a red accent wall in my dining area. I am not sure exactly how red I want to use and would love to see some pics of red rooms in your homes.

Please post any pics or recommendations on red colors!

Your rooms are beautiful! Thank you for posting these pics.

I am concerned about doing more than 1 or 2 walls because it is not a big area. I only live in a 2 bedroom and my dining area is also my entrance area.

Do you find that the red makes the rooms dark?

The room we painted red is actually very large so we wanted to make it look warmer. I have seen it done in smaller spaces and it still looked nice though. I think that you would want a room that either had a lot of natural light or high hats though.

Thank you so much for all of the pic posts. Its amazing how many different shades of red there are and how great they all look.

I am still concerned with how dark it might make the room, but I think I am going to go for it! I figure its only paint, I am only going to do one or two walls and if I hate it that much we can always paint over it. Now the question is what shade of red.

Glad to help. I have more pics. They painted the den lime green And the room I use is red and mustard. And neither room looks as crazy as I'd thought.

His GF HATES anything that the average person would have so the decor (feathers, candle holders, unusual lamps and such) is all her doing.
