Re: Female Question regarding Birth Control....

it could do that, depending on which type you are using. I would talk to your doctor about it.

Re: Female Question regarding Birth Control....

i am on ortho-tri cyclen and I feel it has decreased it ever since I've been on it. I spoke to my doctor about it and she didn't recommend that I change pills. She told me they will all have the same effect on me and by changing pills I am taking a chance of getting prego in b/t. I don't know what do to...it's making me and my poor dh so depressed Chat Icon

Re: Female Question regarding Birth Control....

I think certain pills do. When I first got on ortho tricyclen it killed my sex drive. But it only lasted for a couple of months and eventually I guess everything leveled out and all returned to normal. Though... I could be wrong... my sex drive may have actually stayed lower because since being off the pill (from getting PG while on it) my sex drive has since tripled...but that could be the pg hormones too.

Count me in too. I did OTC then the patch then the lo version. I decided to stick it out to the fall then come off of it all together, hopefully we'll be ready to TTC by then otherwise I'm dumping the responsibility on DH! He's had it too easy for the past 5 1/2years.

Re: Female Question regarding Birth Control....

I have heard this a lot! I have noticed a difference personally. I think more than the type of pill, Its really how a pill responds to your body. I know people who were on the same pill and one had severe reactions (weight gain, moodiness etc) while the other really didnt have any side effect. Everyone's body chemistry is different.

ETA, I am on Yasmin.

Yes they can. I am on ortho-tri-cyclen and it has decreased. I have also heard of other girls on it who have the same proble, Some switched to the Lo and noticed an increase.

I have heard that it does from some people. I was on Ortho-Cept for years and I never noticed a difference.
