Living life for you vs. other people

How do you deal with this struggle?

I think women face this more than men do in some ways, but it effects everyone. How do you balance obligations to yourself and those to others?

I'm never sure I'm doing the right thing. I'm pursuing my dream, but at what cost? It's so hard sometimes

I think this is more evident to me now that I'm a mom. Our big move to a new state for Marissa. I think I've learned to make compromises & sacrifices and they even themselves out.

I think you have to look at the bigger picture. If pursuing your dream will benefit you and your family, then you are on the right track. However, if pursuing your dream only benefits you and shuts out other people in your life, including the ones close to you, then you may have to re-evaluate. No matter what direction you take, there may be times when you can only give so much. Those who really love you will understand and support you. For those who don't, maybe you never needed them in your life anyway.

Re: Living life for you vs. other people

For me I'm having a hard time because everyone around me needs financial help. We're all broke. I have a college degree, I could get an office or retail job and make $30-40K, but instead I'm working several part time jobs and some of the non-paying to pay y dues in the industry. Eventually I will hopefully make money doing it, but it will definitly take time. I don't know if I am being selfish and foolish, or if I'm just doing what I need to do.
